Pricing, quotes and what things cost
How much will my plumbing job cost?
Every job gets a fixed written price before any work begins, the assessment and quote cost nothing, and the number on the quote is the number on the invoice, weekends and evenings included.
Do you charge a call out fee?
No. Getting a licensed plumber to your door costs $0, and you only ever pay for work you have approved in writing.
Do you charge more for nights, weekends or public holidays?
No. Overtime rates simply do not exist here, so a job priced on a Tuesday afternoon costs the same as the same job at 9pm on a Sunday.

Emergencies and getting someone out
How quickly can you get to an emergency?
Real people answer the phone around the clock and the nearest stocked van is dispatched straight away, usually one that has just finished a job on this side of the North Shore. For a burst pipe or an overflowing toilet, start at emergency plumbing.
What should I do while I wait for the plumber?
Turn off the water at the meter for a burst or major leak, isolate the gas at the meter if you smell gas, and switch off power to a leaking hot water system. The gas leaks page walks through the smell test, and no hot water covers the cold-cylinder checks worth trying first.
Can you fix any plumbing problem in one visit?
Most jobs are finished on the first visit because the vans carry the parts for the common faults, and anything unusual gets diagnosed on the spot with a fixed price before the follow-up.

Services explained
Why do drains here keep blocking?
A century of mature canopy and large garden blocks means tree roots hunt moisture through the joints of old earthenware drains, and once a root mat takes hold the line blocks again until it is properly repaired. See blocked drains for how we break the cycle.
Should I repair or replace my hot water system?
One failed element or valve in a reasonably young unit is worth repairing, but two or more faults in quick succession, rust at the valves or a leaking tank usually mean the system has run its race. Hot water repair and hot water replacement set out the signals we look for.
Do you work on heritage and Federation-era homes?
Constantly. Double-brick homes from the 1890s railway era onward are the local norm, and the work ranges from relining cracked clay drains to renovating bathrooms without damaging original fabric.
Can you plumb a renovation or new bathroom?
Yes, from a single new ensuite to a full refit, including the routing, waste and compliance work that older double-brick walls demand, all priced upfront before the first tile comes off. Bathroom plumbing covers the scope, and backflow testing explains the compliance side some renovations trigger.
Do you install and connect appliances?
Dishwashers, washing machines, gas cooktops, fridge lines and filtered taps are all connected to standard, with gas work carried out under the appropriate gas licence.
